Knowing the Goodness,
Molicel Recruits the Handicapped
E-one
Moli Energy Corp. (Molicel), situated in Tainan Science Park,
hopes to recruit 14 handicapped individuals as production management
facilitators. They started recruiting on March 2nd, with the
help of Yun-Jia-Nan Employment Centre at Yong-kang branch.
Mr. Chen, Molicel’s human-resource manager, says, “Our company
plans to continually employ handicaps with high work stability.
Through this, we hope to contribute to the society”.
Thirty job seekers conveyed through sign-languages that they understand
the job requires rotating shifts. Also, their tasks include equipment
handling and check-ups. Since the company does not provide lodging
or transportation service, it is less advantageous for those that
live farer. Molicel provides on-site tour so job seekers can understand
better the conditions at work. Hopefully through effective communication,
better collaboration can be achieved. After interviews, a total
of eight job seekers were recruited.
Mr. Chen states that Molicel initially already filled up the four
spots intended for handicaps. Because their work abilities are
so outstanding, the company crews discarded their original doubts.
Thus, they carved out more production facilitating positions for
suitable handicap candidates. There will be no age limitations
to these positions.
Mr. Chen further explains that Molicel will start by providing
manual works. If the handicap candidates are willing, there will
be more sophisticated positions available with more benefits and
wages increase, etc.
Molicel production manager Zhong-tian Zheng believes: if all peers
are treated equally, everyone can still reach their full work potentials
irregardless of minor physical setbacks. Molicel will install white-boards,
projectors, and other equipment to make create a friendly work
environment for the handicap employees.
Mr. Dayuan Liu, service representative of Yong-kang Employment
Centre, states that, hiring on-site is beneficial because both
the recruiter and candidates will have a better idea what will
the collaboration brings. If the recruiting companies are willing,
this is the best sort of employing process.
