This year, the US Department of Defence’s foreign purchase sector – Comparative Testing Office (CTO) announced on the selection list of equipment firms in Taiwan. E-one Moli Energy Ltd. (Molicel), been the only producer for lithium-ion batteries and angular- high capacity batteries, is the only lithium battery-ion producer selected – affirming its position in battery technology development and production.

Moreover, the US Department of Defense’s foreign purchase sector – Comparative Testing Office (CTO) collaborated with the “Taiwanese Engineering of Defense Union” to host the “2005 US FCT Convention” in March. The event will assess the firms that have the potential of being US Military’s supplier for equipments. After they passed the evaluation, they will be on the list of US Military suppliers. In this convention, a total of thirty-five firms were nominated. The first elimination round already took place; six firms, including Molicel, Acer, 和成欣業、控創科技、新磊微製造、方礎光電科技passed the selection process with seven products.
