US FCT Plan Results: Molicel as the ONLY Battery Provider

   

The US Department of Defence’s foreign purchase sector – Comparative Testing Office (CTO) announced on the 3rd the selection results of equipment firms in Taiwan. A total of six firms made the cut, including E-one Moli Energy Corp (Molicel) for its prismatic high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack. Molicel is the only lithium-ion battery manufacturer selected – affirming its position in battery technology development and production.

Beginning 2000, Molicel has received continuous orders from the US Military Force and Taiwan’s military force. This year, the US Department of Defense’s foreign purchase sector – Comparative Testing Office (CTO) collaborated with the “Taiwanese Engineering of Defense Union” to host the “2005 US FCT Convention” in March. The event will assess the firms that have the potential of being US Military’s supplier for equipments. After they passed the evaluation, they will be on the list of US Military suppliers. In this convention, a total of thirty five firms were nominated. The first elimination round already took place; six firms, including Molicel, passed the selection process with seven products.
 
Molicel is the world’s first manufacturer of lithium-ion battery for power tools, and electric bikes. Its ability is shown in being selected as armory equipment supplier of US Military. This certainly puts Molicel on the map as an innovative designer and developer in the world.
 
Molicel’s high-power lithium-ion cell is already being supplied to Metco – the world’s second largest power tool producer. Also, Molicel’s e-bike and electric skateboard are two products that receive wide attention from many renowned European dealers. There are even firms that suggest collaboration, anticipating to lead a new era of lithium-ion cell technology.
