E-One Moli Energy will be in mass production by
this month
E-One Moli Energy will become the
first Cell
maker in mass production in Taiwan by the end of June this
year. In the preliminary mass production stage, the productivity
is still far short from the average 1.5 million output
level that of the tier-one cell makers. At this phase
of mass production, E-One Energy will only focus on the
replacement cell market, and by the 2nd production line
is ready, E-One Energy should gain quality certifications
form many Mobile phone manufacturers.
E-One Moli Energy points out that, though many believes the
Lithium-ion cell making business is highly profitable, it
is only true for name brand Japanese or cell makers with
paten and brand advantages. As for the inferior cell makers
in Korea or America, the margin is actually quite unattractive.
So as the new comers in this market, Taiwanese company will
most likely experience the same drawback as those Korea or
America cell makers; so that’s why E-One insists on start
up with the replicable cell market to ensure profitability
from the start.
E-One Moli Energy indicates that the mobile phone makers
like Motorola normally places minimum order quantity of least
1.5milliom units to acquire economy of scale, it is next
to impossible for E-One Moli Energy at this point to take
up that kind of order. However, E-One Moli Energy will keep
on submitting samples for qualification, after the second
production line is operational and with the right timing-
fight for official OEM orders.
